On December 15, 2009, University of British Columbia (UBC) signed a Master Document Services Agreement (MDSA) with Xerox Global Services (XGS). The communication to campus in 2009 can be found here.
The Agreement covers printing, copying, scanning, faxing, design and delivery of print materials. Benefits of this agreement include consistent, affordable and reliable campus-wide printing and document production capabilities. The Agreement objective is to deliver cost savings and productivity improvements directly to the faculties, departments and students at UBC. The six year partnership has the potential to save UBC approximately $8 million over the term. In addition, it is anticipated that efficiency improvements in office services and the document lifecycle will reduce UBC's energy consumption and carbon footprint, which is integral to UBC's sustainability strategy.
UBC has asked that any proposed new or revised commitments for print services be evaluated against an XGS proposal, as the preferred vendor.
